What You Need To Know:

Featuring an exclusive electro-mechanical movement developed and patented by TAG Heuer, this Link Calibre S men's watch (model CJF7110.BA0587) combines mechanical and quartz timekeeping to offer unrivaled functionality thanks to no fewer than 230 components--including 5 bidirectional motors, ensure very high-precision functions.

Its intuitive, easy-to-read chronograph offers 1/100 of a second precision and offers measurement of simple time, split time, and two periods of time that follow at very short intervals. When not used as a chronograph, the two half-moon subdials indicate the date (with a perpetual calendar applicable until 2099).

It has a blue dial face with shining silver hour markers and luminous hands. It's matched to a stainless steel bracelet band composed of satin-finished S-shaped links, and the watch case is topped by a tachymeter (used for measuring time over distance). Other features include an anti-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--

The Vitals:

  • TAG Heuer Calibre S Electro-Mechanical movement, a Swiss hybrid-quartz automatic that combines mechanical parts with quartz precision
  • Double-sided anti-reflective, Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal; Luminescent hands and markers
  • Solid 42-mm satin finish stainless-steel case with screw-down caseback; TAG Heuer S Link satin finish stainless-steel bracelet
  • Two Function Modes: Time and Chronograph; Chronograph function to 1/100th of a second precision; Tachymeter bezel

This watch is great. It is the best looking watch I have seen in a long time. Date function is unique and works great. A little challenging setting time and date. I am very happy overall.
Love it

Ordinarily I might get all technical about a purchase, but in this case (that's a watch pun, I guess), and for a watch of this type, it's really more about taste and aesthetics. Heck, if you want to time things to the nanosecond, get a Casio or whatever. Just my opinion.

I bought the watch for myself as a birthday present. I love the way it looks and how the band feels; the ensemble is so well designed that it's extremely comfortable despite the heft of the stainless case. I like the feature (which I didn't know about when I bought the watch) that allows one to turn off the moving mechanism, say, overnight; at a press of the crown, the hands zero out to save the battery. Another press in the morning, and the electronics send them back to the right spot. It's a little worrisome to read that the projected battery life is a couple of years (versus the five years or more that I've experienced with other watches), but I haven't had the watch long enough yet to worry about it. The other comment to make is that buying a watch on the Internet often means that one must do with the vendor's warranty rather than the manufacturer's. The discount makes that worthwhile, in my opinion, although of course the high-end sellers and manufacturers disagree.
