Tag Heuer 2000

I’d always admire Tag Heuer watches and promised myself one day I’d buy one. Eventually a big bonus came in and I treated myself to a £595 Tag Heuer 2000 with a white face.

I was so proud! It really is beautiful and drew admiring comments from anyone I met. The first problem I noticed was it would lose or gain up to 5 seconds a day!

This was particularly noticable in the winter, when you moved from cold outdoors to warm indoors. Contacting the official Tag Dealer I’d bought the watch from I suggested it may have a fault.

Not so; I discovered that the Official Swiss Institute that certifies these things considers a Chronograph (not a watch by the way!) something that doesn’t lose or gain more than 7 seconds! Hmmm, disappointed I carried on - I’d wanted an accurate watch but I’d spent so much on it I had to wear it.
